Darrin Dixon joins Winnfield Funeral Division as Vice President

Darrin L. Dixon, Caddo Parish School Board District 7 member and active in numerous Caddo Parish civic organizations, has joined national funeral services company Letum Inc. as Vice President for Operations in its Winnfield Funeral Division.

Dixon's field of responsibility will cover the Southern Region, providing leadership for Winnfield Funeral Homes, which has offices in Shreveport, Alexandria and Baton Rouge and Heritage Funeral Home and Killeen Funeral Home located in central Texas. Dixon has nearly 30 years of experience in the funeral industry as a licensed funeral director.

Dixon, 53, formerly served as the director for Southern University at Shreveport's Small Business Development Center. In addition to his service as District 7 school board member, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Northwest Louisiana, past Chairman the Board of Directors of the Shreveport Bossier African-American Chamber of Commerce and past Chairman of the Strategic Action Council of Northwest Louisiana. He is a member of the Committee of 100 of Northwest Louisiana and serves on the Board of Directors of Care South Health Care Center, Board Member of the State Fair of Louisiana, and former Trustee Pathways in Education Charter School.

Originally from Lake Providence, Dixon graduated from Lake Providence High and earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness from Southern University in Baton Rouge in May 1992. He earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix in June 2013.
